Jill Nastasia, CEO & Director of Business Development

Born and raised in Stratford Connecticut in a community where everyone was either Italian, Irish, or half Italian-half Irish, I place great value on relationships. After attending University of Connecticut and later graduating from University of Nebraska, I went on to get my MA in Education from Ashford University. I strongly believe that education is the answer to any problem.

My early adulthood career in mortgage had me spending a dozen years in the Midwest, then my two sons and I finally became Texans in 2002. The boys are 13 and 14, so my life revolves around work and teenagers, and I love it.

My journey led me to establish MDPM with Shauna. My professional history includes many years in business development, and I have worked with clients from almost every major city, helping them with marketing and growing their businesses. Today, at MDPM, I’m CEO, but more importantly, I’m the Director of Business Development for our clients.

I love working with our clients to get their message online. Each office, and actually each team member, is unique and special. All dentists think they’re different from others, and while I’ve heard dental marketers make fun of this, I believe it. It’s very interesting to learn what makes my clients tick, then convey that message through marketing so that they attract patients that will make them happy and successful. MDPM is a dental marketing company, so we become part of a dentist’s team. The Internet makes our business model possible, and for that, I’m grateful.

Outside of the office, in addition to playing Mom to my boys, I’m an avid history buff. I devour books about the history of American cities. I had the pleasure, last time I was in Chicago for a meeting, to do the historical building tour via kayak. It was amazing!

I recently surprised myself when I found that I love yoga. Shauna dragged me kicking and screaming to a class, and now I’m hooked. On our recent leadership retreat, while Callie and Annie were scavenging the mall, Shauna and I spent time reviewing each of our clients and putting together new goals for the new year. In 2012, MDPM will offer many new services and products, as well as enhanced SEO services to our existing clients–at no extra cost.

Dental marketing is about relationships: between doctors and patients, doctor and team, patients and team, and between patients and potential patients. At MDPM, we subscribe to this relationship philosophy and foster relationships between our team members and managers, managers and owners, and between owners and clients. Shauna and I publish our cell phone numbers in our marketing. Why? Because we believe that our business is about relationships—and no receptionist or answering service could ever convey the message as well as we can.
