My name is Callie and I’m the Managing Copyeditor at MDPM. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in English Language and Editing from Brigham Young University and have loved writing since I was in middle school. I first discovered I had a talent for writing when each of my teachers bumped up my grade after reading a letter from me, persuading them of why I deserved a higher grade than what my test scores showed. From then on I knew I needed to capitalize on this talent (and continued to use it to secure higher grades throughout even college).
I took as many English classes as I could throughout high school to figure out where my niche was. And I started off my college life as a Journalism major, but always knew something was not quite right. I tried switching to PR, Anthropology, and Cultural Studies, before I finally discovered the missing piece: Editing. I was hooked from my very first class. Although I love to write, what I really enjoy is perfecting other people’s written word and making a piece as perfect as possible. I’ve had experience as an editor and writer at a tutoring company, travel magazine, law firm, helicopter flight school, and accounting firm—and now I’m here at MDPM, excited and eager for this new opportunity.
Other than writing and editing, I love The Beatles, Harry Potter (please don’t assume I’m a Twilight fan because of this—I’m not), random facts found on Snapple caps, New England, competitive games, and photography, just to name a few.
